Awards 

Two new books by Nancy Oswald have been honored in annual awards by two major writing organizations: Western Writers of America (WWA) and Colorado Authors League (CAL).

Edward Wynkoop
Edward Wynkoop: Soldier and Indian Agent  is the winner of a 2015 Spur Award from WWA in the Juvenile Nonfiction category.

Wynkoop spoke out courageously in protest against the Sand Creek Massacre in 1864 at the peaceful Cheyenne and Arapaho encampment.

Anderson began research on historic homes of the Pikes Peak region at age 77 and completed her manuscript 22 years later, just one month before her death. With the support of the Historic Preservation Alliance of Colorado Springs, Mrs. Andersons vision is now a reality in the form of Historic Houses of Colorado Springs and Vicinity: A Personal Selection. The book features descriptions and pictures of 36 homes in the area. Most of the photographs are by Gordon Anderson, Helen's son and collaborator on the project.
