Touching Tomorrow - The Emily Griffith Story is the most comprehensive and thorough biography ever published about Denver's famed educator. Debra Faulkner spent years overturning every stone in her quest to uncover the entire story of Emily Griffith, who although she died in 1947, still casts a very large shadow over Colorado. From Emily's days as a frontier teacher in Nebraska territory, to the founding of the internationally known Emily Griffith Opportunity School, to her violent murder, few Colorado lives present such a compelling story.

The book received the highest recognition from Colorado Independent Publishers Association (CIPA) with an EVVY Award in 2006. Judges described Touching Tomorrow as "A page-turner. A must for historians of women and education in North America."
